A term is revised by publishing a new version of its nanopublication, which keeps the term's URI. Anyone with a role in the space can do this, including for terms others defined; the vocabulary shows the newest approved version. Earlier versions remain on the network, and a term that was defined in error is retracted or disapproved rather than deleted.

Because the URI never changes, everything that referred to the term — other vocabularies, data, nanopublications elsewhere — keeps pointing at it through every revision.
