Some publication-info templates describe metadata that belongs to one nanopublication alone, such as a \"derived from\" link, a change note, or the creator. When such a nanopublication is later used as the starting point for another, this metadata must not be copied along, or the new nanopublication would claim things that are no longer true.

A publication-info template typed nt:TransientTemplate marks its content as exactly that kind: consumed and dropped when the nanopublication is reused, never carried into the new one.
